6 Months Old....

Oh my goodness, we can't believe our little girl is 6 months old. She's not much of a newborn anymore. :-( She is still a lot of fun and she amazes us everyday. She is now rolling. We definitely have to keep an eye on her. If we turn our head for one second she's all the way across the room. :-)

This past week was a big week for Isabella. She turned 6 months on Monday the 12th and on Tuesday she got to meet her Granddaddy Reeves for the first time. Dad and his new wife, Cathy flew in to explore some of Colorado and Utah. We were able to spend some time with them when they got in on Tuesday.

Then on Friday, we took Isabella for her 6 month checkup and shots. Her doctor said she is doing just great and growing like she should. She is 14 lbs 11 oz (25% percentile), 25 1/8" long (25% percentile) and her head circumference is 17 3/8" (85% percentile; which means her brain is getting even bigger). We told the doctor it's all the Baby Einstein and classical music. :-) She also had to get 3 shots. We had her occupied by playing with a plastic cup and the nurse was really quick but as soon as she received that first prick, she looked up at us like what was that and started crying. Mommy couldn't keep from crying either. But she was over it very quickly and was such a trooper.

Later on Friday, our good friend Brian from Atlanta came to visit for the weekend. Brian, Daddy and our friend Lee all went for a bike ride on Saturday before we all spent the day together.

Baby Dedication and Meeting Family

We recently got back from a short but full trip to North Carolina. Isabella got to meet Allison's family for the first time and also Ben's 95 year old Grandmother. We had a great time and she was passed around and loved on from everyone. I know she won't remember it all but she sure does have a lot of people that love her.

Our other purpose for going to North Carolina was for Isabella's Baby Dedication at the church where Allison grew up. All of Allison's family and Ben's Mom and Grandmother and some close friends were able to celebrate the day with us. It truly meant a lot for us to be able to thank God for our little girl and to celebrate the occasion with those closest to us. After the dedication we all enjoyed each other's company over lunch and Isabella got passed around some more.

Isabella's Aunt Amy has not only come out here to visit us 4 times since we moved in last August but she also graciously lets us stay with her, let Ben's family stay with her, took time off work to chauffeur everyone around (and let us use her new car), and coordinated Isabella's dedication and lunch afterwards. Her generosity is only one way she shows how much she loves Isabella and us and she always knows how to make Isabella giggle.

Yummy Toes!

Apparently she's developed her Daddy's ability to put foot in mouth. There were a few things I was really hoping that she wouldn't get from me. This is one of them!

Who could resist though? Those little toes are so cute.

Seeing the world

Isabella is still a happy little girl and she continues to amaze us as she grows and changes.

She recently went with us to Moab, UT for my Adventure Race and some sightseeing.

She's started turning over on her own now and we're often finding her spun completely around on her back in her bed and sometimes on her playtime mat.
We started putting her in her crib about 2 weeks ago and the transition was easier on her than it was on us. She's been sleeping over 8 hours every night since we put her in there. She still wakes up happy, smiling, and cooing so when we hear her on the monitor in the mornings, we run in to catch the show.
She's also just started to hold the bottle by herself. She's getting better control of her hands now and is already beginning to show signs of independence. Not sure I really like that, but we love seeing her grow. It's just happening too fast!

got the 4 month giggles!

Here's how happy our little girl is...
She went in for her 4 month checkup yesterday (doing great BTW - stats below) and got 4 heartbreaking shots in her cute little chubby thighs. Then the Dr advises that she get some Tylenol for potential fever and irritability, but does she need that? NO WAY! She's just too happy. Check out this video below. Right after getting home from the Dr visit, her Aunt Amy and her Mommy were FINALLY able to catch one of her little giggle sessions on camera.

And now for the growth statistics:
Height - 23.75 inches - 28% (yeah we're all short. So what's new?)
weight - 12 lbs. 2 oz. - 20% She's a petite one ain't she?
Head Circumference -16.25 inches - 58% We already knew she's a smart one!

Cuteness overload

Tonight (Monday) I was giving Isabella her bedtime feeding and she started getting fussy in the middle of it. Normally, we can move her around a little or burp her and she'll settle down enough to finish her bottle. Tonight, she finished all but one ounce of it ONLY after I found JUST the right spot for her to get comfortable. She drank all she could before going off into dreamland!

Now all we need are some kittens to really send the cuteness factor over the edge!
